Inspired Stamps, Bloom!

This week the Inspired Stamps Design Team was asked to make Spring projects. I of course jumped at the opportunity to use the new Butterflies & Blooms stamp set!! On my card I used a mirror stamping technique which allows you to reverse the stamped image. This way I was able to use the flowers to frame the butterfly. To do this you need a good stamping ink like Memento Tuxedo Black and a clear photopolymer stamp larger than the one that you're going to mirror stamp. Now not just any large clear stamp, it needs to have a lot of design on it. Something like a scripture stamp would be best as it has a lot of design on it and not much blank space. A stamp set like Psalm 91 Protection would work great! What you do is lay the large busy stamp on your block upside down so that the part you usually stamp with is the side that's laying on the block. You put the stamp you want a mirrored image of on a different block and ink it up well with the Tuxedo black ink. Then you stamp it onto the back of the larger stamp you have on your other block, be careful though as it will be a lot more slippery than stamping on paper! Hold it firm and steady! Then pull the blocks apart and stamp the mirrored stamp on the back of your larger stamp onto the paper. It won't be perfect, but you can fix any imperfections with a Memento marker if you like. I hope that makes sense, if you have any questions please feel free to ask!

The rest of the card was pretty easy. I cut out a wide tag on my Silhouette and turned it upside down. I adhered the stamped images directly to it and tied linen thread around it. I stamped out the Bloom sentiment on a flag and lightly distressed it with Vintage Photo ink. Adhered two different polka dot papers to a cream card base then added the tag. Lastly I added a bit of bling and the card front was complete. :)

I stamped the second part of the sentiment inside, just thought I'd show you how cute the stamp's writing is!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!

Inky and glittery fingers for all!
