Sweet Stamping Treats, Sketch.

This is the sketch the Sweet Stamping Treats' design team was asked to work with this week. I tweeked mine a lil and made it rectangle just so I could send it to OWH.

For my card this week I used the Spring Bunny digi for my image from SST's newest release. I colored the image in with Copics and the bunny's tail with a lil white snow making pen to give it a lil fluff! Such a great image that is totally customizable for Easter, Spring, or any kind of card really. Had a lot of fun with this sketch and the digi!

Karber Digi Design Team Card of The Week: Cute Japanese!

This week's Karber digi design team card features Cute Japanese, she is indeed cute ...or as I like to say, Kawaii, which means cute in Japanese. :) After Copic coloring the image, I die cut a bunch of different shapes and layered them all on an A2 sized white card base. Cut a strip of paper, stamped the sentiment, cut flags at the end and added two self stick pearls. Such a fun card to make!

Also, be sure to stop by Karber's Blog and see how to win their newest clear stamp set release, Cute Strawberry! She's super kawaii and you won't want to miss this chance to win the set!

Made Especially For You, Sketch Challenge

This week at Made Especially For You the challenge is to make a card with the sketch below. I had some canvas bunting flags with grommets by Maya Road from an old Studio Calico kit I had that I never used. When I saw the sketch I went on a mad hunt to find them in my craft nook! When I finally found them I stamped an I, a heart, and a U on each flag in Stayzon ink. Then strung them up with linen thread to match the sketch. I cut a piece of scratch blue and polka dot paper and rounded the edges, again to match the sketch. After that I just did my own thing and rolled some roses from felt that I had left over from another project and adhered them with Glossy Accents. I felt they needed some leaves, so I cut some off a left over strip of Amy Tan fabric stickers. Then I made a flag and stamped the Happy Anniversary sentiment from Lawn Fawn. Because the roses and bunting took up a lot of the design of the card, I decided to not add the three embellishments at the bottom and I did faux white stitches instead to fill up the rest of the empty space. That's my interpretation of the sketch, can't wait to see how you interpret it! Make sure to stop by the blog and see how you can win a Cricut cartridge, too!!

Be sure to stop by the Made Especially For You and click their challenge tab to enter this week's Sketch Challenge. This week's challenge is sponsored by: Jessica's Craft Shaque! The winner will receive a set of decorative corsage pins!

Inspired Stamps, Easter.

Happy Thursday, fellow bloggers! This week the Inspired Stamps DT made Easter cards or Scripture cards. For my card this week I used His Cross for the Scripture and Fruitful Flourishes for the swirly embellishments. First I stamped out the Scripture and flourishes. Then I cut and embossed the cardstock using a Nestabilities die and my Cuttle bug. I edged all the papers with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo and my foam tool and adhered them to the white card base, with the die cut being adhered with thin foam adhesives. Lastly I added some self stick pearls.

I also wanted to share with you the Christian Art Journaling blog the owner of Inspired Stamps, Antoinette is doing for the entire month of March. Even if you're not a fan of journaling, it's a great blog to learn new and innovative techniques you can use with a bevy of different paper craft projects.

Karber Digi Design Team Card of The Week: Millie Umbrella!

For this week's card I used Millie Umbrella. I chose her for my card this week for two reasons. One, she's adorable and such a cute stamp for Spring cards! Second, because she's awesome for newbies like me to learn shadows and shading with Copics! Because you instantly know all the shadows will be under the umbrella it makes it a lot easier to know where to lay down your darker colors. This was only my second go at shading skin tones, so please excuse the imperfections. Though I think even the Copic pros are always learning and evolving with Copics and their techniques. But if you're new to shading I couldn't think of a better image to try!

I finally got to use my new Dew Drops. I only had clear Dew Drops so what I did was drop some of my Ice Blue Copic refill ink into the tiny wells on the back of the drops and let it dry. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. :)

Here's a front view of the card to show the sentiment and faux stitching a wee bit better.

Made Especially For You Challenge, St. Patty's Day & Twine!

This week at Made Especially For You the challenge is to make a St. Patrick's Day Card with twine. I took a gnome stamp and cut off his pointy hat and adhered a Leprechaun's hat instead from Lawn Fawn's Hats Off to You. I made a background with Gel a Tin's Love Knots stamp by heat embossing it with clear embossing powder and running distress inks over it. Then I ran it through my Cuttlebug using a nestabilities die. Wrapped some green and white baker's twine around a piece of My Mind's Eye Lime Twist cardstock and tied a bow through a button. The sentiment was stamped with Lawn Fawn's Smitty's ABCs.

Inspired Stamps, Shape Up!

This week the Inspired Stamps design team was asked to make a card with one of their stamps that featured shapes. I chose to use the Fruitful Flourishes as my shape and His Little Ones: girl studying for the little girl. I made a boarder with some of the swirls from the Flourishes set. I stamped them in Versa Mark and sprinkled white embossing powder to heat emboss. Once the embossing cooled I ran Tim Holtz's Antique Linen Distress Stain over the embossing and the entire piece of white card stock. Once that dried completely I stamped individual words and phases from the same set in brown Memento ink in a semi-boarder. I colored the HLO girl with Copics and adhered her to the two rectangle papers I cut earlier with foam adhesives. Attached a flag with a button and linen thread to the bottom and then adhered to a white card base.

Thanks so much for dropping by and for all the blog support, I can't tell you how much it means to me!!

Sweet Stamping Treats

This week's card features SST's Mouse Treat digi stamp. I Copic colored the mouse and paper pieced him to a die cut tag I splattered with mists and covered the edges with Tim Holtz Tissue Tape. I cut out the lollipop separately and coated blue baker's twine with Glossy Accents and coiled it around the lollipop. I liked that when it dried it looked glossy like a giant hard candy lollipop would look. Then I took two different colors of scrap chevron patterned paper and cut strips and adhered them down. Tied a bow at the top with linen thread and added a tiny flag with a sentiment stamped on it. I stamped "Happy Birthday" inside, I think it would be a cute card for a little boy's birthday.

Thanks so much for dropping by my blog today! I really appreciate it!
