Inspired Stamps: Spring Inspiration & Embossing Folder Giveaway!!

Happy Thursday, bloggers! I have a distressed shabby chic Spring card and a giveaway today for you! My card was made with Inspired Stamps' newest release Spring Sketches, an older favortie from last year's Spring release Butterflies and Blooms, and Lovely Lace. I used the Darice Chevron Embossing folder and distressed it with Tim Holtz distress stain in Picket Fence, an inking tool, and Hero Art's ink pad in wet cement. I stamped the Lovely Lace on a Kraft card stock and distressed it the same way and fussy cut it. I stamped the flower and leaves from the Spring Sketches stamp set, colored with Copics, and paper pieced it onto the doily. Then wrapped heaps of burlap twine from May Arts and tied a bow and added a flag with the pretty and bold Bloom sentiment from the Butterflies and Blooms set. I'm giving away the Chevron Embossing Folder from Darice because I accidentally ordered two. My mistake, your gain! :)

Celebrate the Red, White, and Bl-ewe!

Happy fourth of July week, American bloggers! I made this card with the holiday in mind for the Simon Says Stamp Patriotic challenge and then I added dimension for the Lawnscaping Dimension Challenge. I hadn't used any punny goodness for a while, so I was super happy when I came up with this one! :) The black frame was cut and embossed for extra dimension with a Nestabilities die, the sheep are on pop dots, as is the banner. I used the little tiny star from the Critters Ever After set to make blue and red stars on the middle ewe with Tim Holtz distress inks. Hope you like it and I hope you have a lovely fourth of July! :)

Ginger Snap Scraps: Father's Day

My project for today for the Ginger Snap Scraps Design Team was to make Father's Day cards. I made mine a bit preppy, with a touch of distress, and a lot of Tim Holtz goodness. Hope you like it and if you haven't made a card for your dad yet, I hope it gave you a little inspiration. This one is going to be sent to my father in law as he's a teacher at a college and carries a briefcase and wears a tie every day. Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out the blog to see the other design team member's gorgeous works! To visit the Ginger Snap Scrap's store, please click the banner below. There's always a sale going on and this week it's 30% off all Greeting Farm Stamps that are now carried in the shop!!

Lawnscaping Challenge #23, Tags or Treat Bags

Another fun Lawnscaping challenge! This week's was all about tags and treat bags. Since it's the holidays I chose to make a gift tag. I'm infatuated with Lawn Fawn's Making Frosty Friends stamp set. Maybe it's the Hawaiian/Southern girl in me longing for a white Christmas, but snowmen and snow flakes around the holidays make me happy.

I saw this picture on Pinterest and it just looked so pretty! So I decided to encase the snowman and penguin in an icy snow sheath.

I started off cutting out a tag on my Cricut with white cardstock. I stamped snow flakes from two different Lawn Fawn stamp sets (Making Frosty Friends and Critters in the Snow) with Versa Mark and then sprinkled with white embossing powder. After tapping off the excess embossing powder I heated the snowflakes with my heat tool. Once it cooled I blended two blue distress (broken china and stormy sky) inks with a distress stain in tumbled glass and sponged off any excess ink with a paper towel. Then I free handed some snow hills and out lined them in Copic markers and stickles and adhered them to the bottom of the tag. Because the plastic (just some excess packaging from a cheap-o digital camera) I ran through the Cuttlebug and embossed with a snowflake pattern was pretty thick, I decided to back the animals and tree with some thin chip board so that they stood out more by adding dimension. I had a snow making pen and decided to add some puffy snow on the snowman's hat poof and to the tree. I also added some mini bling and pearls to some of the snowflake centers and three black gems for the snowman's coal buttons. Tied a bow at the top of the tag with some doodlebug Christmas twine. If you have any questions, please leave me a comment or send me an e-mail and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!

I hope you like my tag and thanks so much for stopping by!
