Welcome Winter Blog Hop!

Welcome to my stop on the Welcome Winter Blog Hop!  You should have come to by way of the lovely Haidee.  Be sure to stop by Ashley's blog to learn about all the prizes that will be given away from our sponsors!!
For my card I chose to do a shaped window shaker card for the winter animals to sit in using a Nestabilities die set. It's super easy to make and has a great "wow factor" for the recipient.  There's heaps of videos to watch on YouTube if you'd like to give this technique a whirl.  The only items I left out of my supply list was some recycled foam I had from some packaging, and some clear plastic packaging from a SD card I purchased earlier.  It is imperative to have the sheet of foam because you'll need to be able to cut a hole through it with the Nestabilities die in order to have a raised area for the shaker's contents.  Equally important, you'll also need the clear plastic sheet to enclose the shaker's contents.

Your next stop on the hop is with the lovely Tabetha

    Inspired Stamps: Shape Card!

This week the design team was tasked to make shape cards with scripture. I decided to have another go at making a shaker card. I found a snow globe cut in the Silhouette store and modified it a bit to incorporate the shaker. I used the new Thinking of You set for my scripture and the Let it Snow stamp set for the snow man and snow flakes inside of the globe. For the filling I used various Dew Drops and some fake snow I got a couple years back at the after Christmas sale at Pottery Barn. For the bottom I distressed some cream card stock with distress inks and attached the Nestabilities die cut tag with scripture and added two bits of bling. I hope you like it! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Be sure to stop by the Inspired Stamps Blog and see the rest of the design team's gorgeous creations!

Ginger Snap Scraps DT: Bring on the Bling!

So as you can see, I used a lot of bling. Because this week is Bling It On with the Ginger Snap Scrap's Design Team! I made a shaker card for my dear friend I've known since I was 14, Joy. She loves the color yellow, so I tried to incorporate as much as I could into the color palette. All you need to make a shaker card is a Nestablities die from Spellbinders and a manual die cutting machine like Cuttlebug. To make the shaker recessed into the card you can use foam or scrap cardboard like I did. There's heaps of videos out there on YouTube if you'd like to give it a whirl. All the items I used are listed below in the thumbnails. The beads for the shaker material are from my local craft store. The Unicorn, star stamps, and banner's sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn Critters Ever After stamp set and I wrote the happy birthday bit below.

Hope you like it and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by my blog today!

    Update:
It made it to Alabama without getting unched and Joy loved it! She Instagramed it on Facebook. :)
