Inspired Stamps: Military Inspired

Good Thursday bloggers! Today's post for the Inspired Stamps design team is all about the US Armed Services. If you're an American just coming off of Memorial Day weekend, I hope you'll still be thinking about the troops when card making. Inspired Stamps is a huge supporter of Operation Write Home and we hope you'll think about making an Any Hero card or two and mailing them in. Inspired Stamps has some beautiful stamps made especially for the military in mind. For my card I used two different Inspired Stamps sets: For the HLO I used His Little Ones: soldier with helmet and for the stars and sentiment I used Psalm 91 Protection.

I made a shape card with a Nestabilities die. For the background I used a chevron mask and red, white, and blue mists. I stamped the stars with StazOn and embossed the sentiment in Gold.

Ginger Snap Scraps' Memorial Day Blog Hop: Day Two!

Welcome to day two of Ginger Snap Scraps' Memorial Day blog hop!! Today is the same theme: red, white, and blue, but everyone has a new project to show you! Be sure to stop by the Ginger Snap Scraps'blog to see all the amazing work the design team has made!

If you're hopping along, you should have arrived here from the blog of the wonderful and talented Connie!

For my project today I played a little with altered art. I took gold acrylic paint and my fingers to paint the background. I wanted to use my fingers to get some texture into the paint. I stamped out the newsprint buildings and painted them with distress ink pads and a water brush. Then mounted them on X-Press Blending white cardstock. I then mounted them in layers and different dimensions with foam adhesives onto the cardstock I had painted. Then I lightly misted the buildings and background with Glimmer Mist and smudged the mist that landed on the gold with a paper towel into the grooves. While the mist was drying I painted the Studio Calico wood stars with white acrylic paint and red & blue Copics. I adhered the stars down with glossy accents to make sure they were securely in place. For the final touch I stamped a flag with a Tim Holtz stamp and distressed it lightly with Vintage Photo distress ink. I found a rouge star that I must have overlooked and decided to add it to the flag for a final touch.

Inspired Stamps: Father's Day

Good Thursday, bloggers! This week the Inspired Stamps design team was asked to make Father's Day cards. I chose to use their Men of Favor stamp set for my stamp and some beautiful wood and woodgrain textures for the accent pieces. Since the wood frame I had was oval, I placed the Happy Father's Day sentiment curved on my stamp block. Because Inspired Stamps are made out of the highest quality photopolymer, it's quite easy to do this! They'll stick where you place them on your acrylic block to insure perfect stamping! Since the scripture fit perfectly as is, I didn't have to manipulate that stamp at all.

The second picture is the woodgrain paper after I had distressed it with copious amounts of distress stains, inks, and mists. I really really like how it turned out and hope it gave my card a masculine feel. Plus I got a new camera and wanted to take an artsy picture. ;)

To celebrate Memorial Day, Inspired Stamps is having a Memorial Day Sale!! 25% off your entire order, May 24-31st!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Be sure to head over to the Inspired Stamp's blog and see some beautiful inspiration from the other members of the design team!
